Job summary

Smartlink LLC seeks a Switch Engineer to support Field Engineers, contractors, and tower crews across multiple customers and markets. The role demands 5+ years of relevant experience with RAN and carrier Ethernet networks, and a strong troubleshooting background.

The position is remote, but you must reside in the Eastern Time Zone to align with team schedules. Responsibilities include interfacing with vendor frameworks, performing upgrades, and mentoring junior staff, while ensuring quality

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining and operating RAN or carrier ethernet networks.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, VLANs, MPLS/VPLS, routing, OSI model, L2/L3 devices.
• Ability to interpret and validate RAN configurations via RFDS.
• Proficient with command line interfaces, Windows and Linux, and common tools.
• Experience troubleshooting complex RAN and transport issues.

Responsibilities

• Interface with multiple vendor management frameworks (OSS, ENM, CNM, WebEM, USM, NSP).
• Perform upgrades and changes across RAN and transport equipment.
• Provide troubleshooting support to field engineers during integrations, upgrades, decommissioning, and maintenance tasks.
• Triage and troubleshoot issues across RAN and transport equipment.
• Use databases for data fills and CIQs (INAM/IPAMs, Granite/CND Circuit Databases, ConQuest, FUZE).
• Generate configuration scripts using internal and external tools (IOP, NSP Nokia Service Portal).
• Perform integrations and commissioning on Ericsson/Nokia/Samsung 4G/5G RAN equipment.
• Maintain a customer-first attitude and exceed customer expectations and obligations.
• Assist with creating Methods of Procedure and mentor junior team members.
• Responsible for making sure all quality standards are met.
