Job summary

Smartlink LLC seeks a Switch Engineer with 5+ years of relevant experience to support Field Engineers, contractors, and tower crews across multiple markets. You will work within Tier 1 networks and interface with vendor frameworks to perform upgrades and troubleshooting.

Role requires strong RAN and carrier Ethernet know‑how, OSI and TCP/IP fluency, and the ability to script/configure using internal tools. Remotely located in Pacific Time Zone, with flexible schedule.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge and experience with the maintenance and operations of either RAN or carrier ethernet networks.
• Solid understanding and application of standards including TCP/IP, IPv4/6, VLANs, MPLS/VPLS, routing protocols, OSI model, layer 2 and 3 devices, and carrier ethernet architectures.
• Ability to interpret and validate RAN configurations via RFDS.
• Must have strong computer skills using command line interfaces, Microsoft Office suite, Windows and Linux operating systems, CLI and GUI utilities, and serial/LMT management interfaces.
• Strong ability to troubleshoot complex RAN and transport related issues.

Responsibilities

• Interface with multiple vendor management frameworks including OSS, ENM, CNM, WebEM, USM, NSP, etc.
• Perform upgrades and changes across both RAN and transport equipment.
• Provide troubleshooting support to field engineers during integrations, upgrades, decommissioning, and maintenance tasks.
• Triage and troubleshoot issues across both RAN and transport equipment.
• Experience using databases for data fills and CIQs (INAM/IPAMs, Granite/CND, ConQuest, FUZE).
• Generate configuration scripts using internal and external tools (IOP, NSP Nokia Service Portal).
• Perform integrations and commissioning on Ericsson/Nokia/Samsung 4G/5G RAN equipment.
• Maintain a customer-first attitude and exceed customer expectations.
• Assist with creating Methods of Procedure and mentor junior team members.
• Responsible for meeting quality standards.
