Job summary

e-STORAGE, a Canadian Solar subsidiary, seeks a Technical Solutions Engineer to support the development, evaluation, and integration of utility-scale energy storage systems with emphasis on battery technology and performance in integrated systems.

You will work across R&D, product, and execution teams to translate degradation models into warranties and system requirements, while helping shape the product roadmap and customer solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, materials science, electrochemistry, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering, R&D, or product management within battery storage.
• Direct experience in battery product development, cell testing, or energy storage applications is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of LFP battery cells, DC Blocks, and ESS standards (UL 9540/UL 9540A/UL 1973/IEC).
• Experience collaborating with international partners across time zones.
• Ability to lead development of internal engineering tools, system models, or automation processes.
• Strong technical, analytical, and troubleshooting skills with hands-on validation.
• Proficiency in Mandarin is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical due diligence and product development reviews with suppliers and internal teams.
• Collaborate with R&D and product teams to support design development, validation, and roadmaps.
• Evaluate technical specs for internally and externally sourced products.
• Maintain traceability of vendor/product documentation and solutions status.
• Oversee development of internal engineering tools for system modeling and validation.
• Support IE reviews and client due diligence with documentation and rationale.
• Monitor evolving standards (UL/IEEE/IEC) and ensure alignment across designs.
• Travel up to 15% for vendor assessments and industry events.
