Job summary

Canadian Solar Inc. is seeking a Senior Requirements Engineer for our e-Storage group in the US. You will develop technical requirements for EMS controls and PCS for utility-scale energy storage, guiding control system technologies and ensuring alignment with business goals.

You will create security templates, review project-specific requirements, and implement robust requirements management across global programs. Strong knowledge of UL/IEC, NERC-CIP, and battery standards is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 7+ years in design and implementation of global compliance standards for energy products.
• Knowledge of UL/IEC requirements and NERC-CIP cyber security.
• Experience with regional and global regulatory requirements.
• Ability to work independently and across multiple disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical requirements for battery energy storage control systems and PCS.
• Create security requirements and templates for cyber security.
• Review project-specific requirements for control systems and PCS.
• Develop comprehensive requirements management strategies for clients.
• Track applicable standards and communicate implications to teams.
• Assist in certification testing solutions and challenges.
• Examine schematics, wiring diagrams, and instructions for tests.
• Identify compliance risks and mitigate them across products.
• Report regularly to business teams and stakeholders.
• Utilize AI tools to develop technical requirements.
• Maintain version control for traceability and change management.
