Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in designing and implementing global compliance standards for products such as SCADA/EMS and energy storage equipment.
• Knowledge of UL & IEC requirements; NERC-CIP cyber security requirements.
• Experience with regional and global regulatory requirements.
• Knowledge of battery-related standards such as IEC62619, UL1973, IEC62933-5-1/-2, UL9540, UL9540A, NFPA855, ISO-27019.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage priorities in a cross-functional team.
• Deep understanding of battery systems.
• Participation in compliance or standards councils is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical requirements for battery energy storage control systems and Power Conversion Systems (PCS) in line with goals and standards.
• Develop a set of security requirements and templates.
• Review project-specific requirements for control systems and PCS.
• Develop comprehensive requirements management strategies for clients.
• Monitor applicable standards and communicate implications to R&D, commercial, and engineering teams.
• Assist in finding solutions to certification testing challenges.
• Read schematics and wiring diagrams to examine test samples.
• Identify potential compliance risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Report regularly to the business team and stakeholders.
• Utilize AI tools for developing technical requirements.
• Maintain version control to ensure traceability, auditable trails, and change management.
