Job summary

Carilion Clinic is seeking an Epic Application Analyst III for Hospital Billing to perform Epic system analysis, design, configuration, testing, and implementation. You will troubleshoot, train, and report on Epic and integrated third‑party applications, supporting multiple Epic modules.

The role requires strong documentation, project management, and collaboration across teams, with an on‑call rotation and occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in computer science, information systems, healthcare, or business, or 2 years' experience.
• Must maintain 3 vendor/industry certifications in Epic modules as determined by management.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conducts intermediate to advanced analysis of Epic application design and system workflows.
• Independently manages assigned projects and work efforts, ensuring timely delivery.
• Translates business needs into system solutions with minimal supervision.
• Develops and maintains documentation for supported Epic and non-Epic applications.
• Assists with implementation of new Epic modules and system enhancements.
• Mentors analysts and participates in knowledge sharing across the team.
• Interacts with internal and external customers and stakeholders professionally.
• Participates in an after-hours on-call rotation and occasional travel.

Education

Associate’s degree in computer science, information systems, healthcare, business or 2 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
