Job summary

Tradewater is seeking an Environmental Project Manager (Engineering) to advance methane mitigation projects. The role combines hands-on field work with data analysis and cross-functional collaboration to quantify emissions and plug wells.

The position is largely remote, open to candidates in the continental U.S. or Canada, with up to 50% travel and proximity to a major airport. A cover letter detailing relevant experience is requested.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering is required; chemical/mechanical or petroleum engineering is preferred.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in oil and gas, with field-based operations.
• Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams and lead teams.
• Willingness to travel to field sites and work with contractors.
• Experience with data analysis and simple modeling in Excel or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage orphaned oil and gas well plugging efforts, from identification to emissions quantification and plugging.
• Lead emissions measurement field work, supervise external contractors, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate field trips, data collection, and support carbon credit verification processes.
• Develop SOPs for measurement equipment, field operations, and data processing.
