Job summary

Tata Projects is seeking an Area Manager Environment for manganese mines in India. You will lead environmental management programs, ensure regulatory compliance, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability into mining operations.

The role focuses on planning and implementing ISO 14001 EMS, biodiversity initiatives, waste and water management, and risk assessments to minimize ecological impact while meeting project milestones and approvals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree is required.
• Experience in environment management is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conclude the systems for manganese mines addressing extensions, changes and environmental needs.
• Acquire all required legal clearances, approvals and permits.
• Implement environmental relief measures per design including waste and e-waste management.
• Monitor air, water, noise and other parameters to assess relief measures.
• Coordinate management of sustainability issues related to climate and environment.
• Plan and monitor CO2 action plans and identify climate risks and responses.
• Improve biodiversity by implementing BMPs and monitoring.
• Execute and monitor actions to conserve natural resources and protect local habitats.
• Conduct risk assessments for manganese mines and develop corresponding responses.
• Implement ISO 14001 EMS across the division.
• Prepare reports and communicate on sustainability and climate issues with JSR/HO and internal teams.
• Organize awareness meetings and training on climate-related topics.
• Apply guidelines related to climate and environmental management cycles (EC/EMP).
