Job summary

AECOM is actively seeking an Entry-Level Archaeological Technician. This remote, part-time role is expected to begin as soon as possible and supports Phase I–III field and lab studies across the US.

The Archaeological Technician will assist with field excavation, artifact processing, and documentation, while gaining experience with GIS/GPS tools and basic lab techniques under supervision.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• BA or BS in Archaeology, Anthropology, or related field preferred.
• Experience with GIS, GPS, Total Station, Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop, statistics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performs archaeological fieldwork, laboratory analysis, and documentation.
• Works under direction of Crew Chiefs, Field Director, and Principal Investigator.
• Collaborates with field, lab and office staff to ensure project quality standards.
• Provides support on project tasks, including equipment preparation and organizational support.
• Performs data entry, artifact labeling, and records curation.
• Engages in physical activities such as excavation and moving materials in varying weather.
