Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to lead strategic design and governance of enterprise infrastructure architectures across large IT environments. This role covers current, transition, and future state architectures for data center, database, storage, and backup platforms.

The ideal candidate will drive modernization, transformation, and operational excellence with business leaders, engineering teams, security organizations, and technology vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
• 16–20 years in enterprise infrastructure architecture or related field.
• Experience designing and governing large-scale enterprise environments.
• Strong knowledge of data center tech, databases, storage, backup, and DR.

Responsibilities

• Define current, transition, and target-state architectures.
• Govern standards, reference architectures and roadmaps for data center, storage, and DR.
• Lead architecture reviews for cloud adoption, modernization and migrations.
• Evaluate solutions for scalability, security, availability and cost.
• Ensure resilience, continuity, and cyber security compliance.
• Lead vendor evaluations and proof-of-concept activities.
• Collaborate across teams to maintain architecture alignment.
• Document architecture artifacts and decision records.
• Provide senior technical leadership during major upgrades and incidents.
• Identify opportunities for standardization and automation.
