Job summary

HighLevel, a remote-first AI-powered operating system, seeks a visionary Engineering Manager to lead the WhatsApp Team. This role is core to delivering scalable onboarding, WABA management, templates, and high-throughput message delivery for millions of customer interactions worldwide.

You will own end-to-end architecture, drive reliability, observability, and compliance, mentor 8+ engineers, and collaborate with product, infra, security and legal to ensure data integrity across phone services.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of backend engineering experience with leadership
• Experience designing fault-tolerant, massively scalable systems

Responsibilities

• Architect for massive scale: high-level architecture for core Phone platform components
• Own Phone Billing end to end: metering, rating, lifecycle and audit trails
• Lead evolution of Trust & Compliance systems into rules-based platform
• Hands-on with technologies like NestJS, Firestore, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis
• Drive high-concurrency innovations to improve reliability, latency, and throughput
• Improve observability and resilience via monitoring/alerts/incident response
• Leverage AI tools to write, refactor, test, and debug code with guardrails
• Partner with product, infra, security, finance and legal for data integrity and access control
• Develop EM I leaders and engineers, build leadership pipeline
• Participate in design reviews and on-call rotations to uphold excellence
