Job summary

CareMessage is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Messaging and Applications teams, guiding technical strategy, delivery, and people development in a fully distributed US-based setting.

You will champion AI-assisted practices, maintain strong cross-functional partnerships with Product, Customer Success, Data, and Engineering, and ensure scalable, compliant product growth for low-income populations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as Engineering Manager over product/application teams in remote startups.
• Strategic leadership to drive long-term technical projects across multiple teams.
• Strong technical acumen for customer-facing web applications and cloud infra.
• Experience adopting AI-assisted tooling to raise velocity and quality in healthcare/PHI contexts.
• Hands-on ability to dig into code when needed to unblock the team.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and people leadership for Messaging and Applications teams.
• Oversee roadmaps, performance reviews, and hiring of engineers.
• Champion AI-assisted engineering practices with guardrails for PHI.
• Define technical strategy for reliable, compliant core product.
• Coordinate with Product and Design to define PRDs and roadmaps.
