Job summary

Mysten Labs is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead engineers building wallet and DeFi experiences for the Sui ecosystem. You will own team health and engineering outcomes in an asset-sensitive product, partnering with product, design, security, protocol, and ecosystem teams.

You will guide technical direction for wallet features, key management, and onchain interactions, while ensuring reliability and trust in our wallet experiences across platforms.

Qualifications

• Experience managing and developing software engineers in a high-ownership product environment.
• Direct experience shipping production blockchain wallet functionality; understands self-custody, private-key security, signing, recovery, and wallet-to-dApp interactions.
• Hands-on DeFi fluency with onchain products and risk awareness across liquidity, routing, staking, lending, and bridges.
• Strong systems judgment across client apps, backend services, APIs or SDKs, monitoring, and operational response.
• Ability to partner with product, design, security, and senior technical leaders while maintaining clear engineering accountability.

Responsibilities

• Lead, hire, coach, and retain engineers across wallet clients, supporting services, and onchain integrations.
• Set technical direction for account creation, key management, signing, and DeFi experiences.
• Create ownership plans across web, browser extension, iOS, Android, backend services, SDKs, and protocol dependencies.
• Raise standards for architecture, testing, release safety, observability, incident response, and post-incident learning.
• Collaborate with product and design to simplify onchain workflows while exposing fees, risks, and outcomes clearly.
• Manage threats and dependencies with security and protocol teams; balance usability, decentralization, and asset protection.
• Use data and ecosystem context to prioritize work and measure outcomes.
