Job summary

Qualus is seeking an Overhead Transmission Line Engineering Manager to lead and grow a high-performing engineering team. The role partners with the Engineering Director to provide technical oversight and strategic direction for transmission line projects across multiple offices.

You will recruit, mentor, and manage engineers, drive QA/QC, and coordinate with business development to maintain a healthy backlog. Domestic travel and cross-location collaboration are expected.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• Minimum 5 years in management within energy sector.
• Experience in high-voltage transmission line design preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering supervision and leadership for transmission line projects.
• Coordinate with Engineering Director and manage engineers across offices.
• Develop and maintain client relationships with senior level staff.
• Oversee QA/QC and ensure proper engineering processes.
• Participate in project kickoff meetings and client site visits.
• Assist in business development to build backlog.
• Forecast engineering needs and manage training.
• Review time sheets and ensure cost, quality, schedule targets.
