Job summary

Canonical is seeking a Partner Engineering Manager to lead a distributed team working with Linux engineers and silicon partners to optimise Ubuntu across IoT and server platforms. The role focuses on technical leadership, strategy, and reliable delivery, with engagement across multiple partners.

You will guide architecture and execution, develop your engineers, and maintain a strong customer focus while working remotely with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team of software engineers.
• Strong customer-facing experience and ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Understanding of Agile software development methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of distributed engineers to design and implement Ubuntu integration for IoT and server hardware.
• Engage with commercial partners to deliver an optimised Ubuntu experience on their platforms.
• Develop your team through coaching, mentoring, and feedback.
• Oversee commercial engagements and ensure timely delivery on milestones.
• Maintain high quality and reliability standards across projects.
• Collaborate with internal Canonical teams on product architecture and roadmaps.
• Travel up to twice a year for up to two weeks.
