Job summary

Horizon3.ai is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our EDR remediation team, driving production-safe autonomous pentests across complex environments with our NodeZero platform. You will own hiring, growth, and how the team scales, collaborating with architecture, product, and engineering leaders.

This is a highly technical leadership role with hands-off coding and deep design evaluation. You will manage diverse engineers, translate goals into prioritized work, challenge estimates, and ensure

Qualifications

• Familiarity with EDR or security operations.
• Proven experience leading highly technical backend or platform engineering teams.
• Track record delivering products under fixed dates when requirements were ambiguous.
• Strong dependency and stakeholder management across many teams.
• Understanding of security and reliability best practices in multi-tenant SaaS.
• Experience partnering with a staff-level technical lead and with product teams.
• Ability to uphold quality and safety standards under schedule pressure.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a backend/edr-focused team with clear career paths.
• Turn EDR workflows into buildable requirements and product capabilities.
• Partner with a staff-level technical lead on architecture and with Product on roadmap sequencing.
• Translate ambiguous goals into sequenced, deliverable work and manage scope.
• Stay technically engaged to challenge assumptions and unblock the team.
• Establish design review, release practices, on-call, and incident response processes.
