Abbott is seeking a Principal Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate secure, scalable cloud-native platforms supporting digital health and AI/ML solutions. You will lead platform architecture, drive engineering excellence, and mentor multiple teams while staying hands-on with design and implementation.

The role emphasizes AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), IaC, GitOps, and CI/CD, with strong collaboration across Cybersecurity, Privacy, and Regulatory functions to ensure compliant, reliable delivery.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 16+ years of cloud architecture and enterprise-scale systems experience.
• Hands-on experience with Amazon EKS, Kubernetes, Terraform, GitOps, and modern CI/CD practices.
• Experience designing secure, highly available, scalable distributed systems.
• Experience leading technical initiatives across multiple teams and influencing engineering decisions.
• Proficiency in Java, C#, C++, Python, NodeJS; strong DevOps/CI/CD, containerization, IaC, and observability.

Responsabilidades

• Lead architecture, design, implementation, and operation of cloud-native platforms on AWS.
• Design and operate Kubernetes platforms using Amazon EKS.
• Define platform standards, reference architectures, and engineering best practices.
• Build and maintain cloud infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Implement GitOps and CI/CD practices to automate infrastructure and application delivery.
• Develop reusable platform services, automation, and self-service capabilities for engineering teams.
• Design secure cloud solutions with identity, access control, encryption, and secrets management.
