Job summary

Workiva Inc. seeks a seasoned engineering leader to own the GRC Reporting domain, unifying data, charts, and narratives across products. You will guide an engineering team, ensure a high-quality delivery pipeline, and align with PM and UX to shape domain direction.

You will mentor engineers, run transparent 1:1s, and coach career growth while managing risk and cross-team collaboration in a fast-paced, compliance-focused environment. Flexible, remote work options are supported.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 5+ years of engineering experience, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
• 3+ years directly managing engineers, including supervisory experience of supervisors and/or individual contributors.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines in a high-compliance environment.
• A people-first mindset with experience in career development, performance coaching, and building team culture.
• Experience with GRC, compliance, audit, or risk management domains or similar high-stakes product domains.
• Experience building shared platform capabilities consumed by multiple product teams.
• Comfort with ambiguity; new team with evolving domain boundaries through practice.
• Experience evaluating engineering output in an AI-augmented environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers, assigning roles and tasks based on goals and growth areas.
• Own the delivery schedule for your team and communicate risk to group leadership early.
• Own the reporting system, principles, and patterns across all GRC solutions.
• Drive development of the composition layer: charts, narrative, tables, dynamic data, and reports.
• Build and maintain lineage, versioning, and persistence infrastructure for trustworthy outputs.
• Define and execute product quality strategy with leaders and contributors.
• Reinforce Workiva values, principles, and agile practices across squads.
