Job summary

Workiva, Inc. is seeking a senior engineering leader to build and run the team behind GRC Reporting, unifying how reporting works across Workiva's GRC solutions.

You will own the engineering decisions, architecture, and resourcing for an AI-native reporting domain, mentor engineers, and partner with product and UX to deliver trustworthy, auditable outputs. This role requires travel up to 25%, leadership in Agile practices, and delivering high‑quality, compliant reporting for boards, auditors,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field plus 5+ years of engineering experience.
• 3+ years directly managing engineers, including supervisory experience of supervisors and/or ICs.
• Experience with GRC, compliance, audit, or risk management domains.
• Experience in an Agile environment.
• Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
• Solid grounding in SDLC, data structures, algorithms, and OO design.
• Experience with automated testing or SDLC process improvement.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers and assign roles based on goals and growth areas.
• Own the delivery schedule and communicate risk early to leadership.
• Own the reporting system and patterns across all GRC solutions.
• Drive development of the composition layer: charts, narrative, tables, dynamic data, template import, report generation.
• Build and maintain lineage, versioning, and persistence infrastructure for trustworthy outputs.
• Define and execute product quality strategy with leaders and contributors.
• Reinforce Workiva values, principles, and agile practices across squads.
• Serve as engineering voice in GRC Reporting triad with PM and UX Lead.
• Define data structure requirements for reportability across outcomes.
• Identify resourcing needs and tradeoffs to group leadership.
