Job summary

Bentley Systems is seeking an experienced Application Engineer, Energy, Utilities & Digital Grid Solutions to act as a technical SME supporting utilities, renewable energy, transmission and distribution projects and digital workflows.

This remote US role collaborates with Account Managers, Solution Engineers, and Product Management to demonstrate value, guide evaluations, and help customers modernize planning, design, construction and operation of critical energy infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Energy Systems, Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in electric utilities, power generation, renewable energy, transmission and distribution, substation engineering, or related field.
• Strong presentation and communication skills and experience working with users/customers.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to both engineering and business audiences.

Responsibilities

• Support sales pursuits through technical discovery, solution alignment, demonstrations, workshops, and proof-of-concept activities.
• Participate in customer-facing meetings to understand business challenges and technical requirements.
• Translate industry challenges into solution-based recommendations.
• Collaborate with Solution Engineers and Account Managers on strategic opportunities.
• Deliver compelling presentations to technical and executive audiences.
• Develop and maintain expertise across Bentley’s energy and utility portfolio, including electrical network analysis, substation and transmission design, renewable energy, utility digital delivery, and infrastructure engineering solutions.
