Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an Electrical Engineer for power projects in a remote/virtual United States role. The candidate will join our Consulting group to support gas-fired combined cycle, renewables, battery storage, and utility planning engagements.

Responsibilities include evaluating EPC proposals, reviewing drawings and specs, and providing technical input during EPC negotiations. Excellent communication and leadership skills are essential in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with 8+ years of experience in utility-scale power/storage projects.
• Experience in EPC teams or Owner’s Engineer is a plus.
• Auxiliary power system design experience (gas-fired combined cycle preferred) is a plus.
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to guide others.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and/or review EPC RFP packages and technical specifications.
• Evaluate EPC proposals to assist selection of preferred EPC contractors.
• Provide technical support during EPC contract negotiations.
• Prepare or review specifications such as main power transformers, switchgear, and other electrical equipment.
• Review EPC contractor electrical design packages and supporting calculations (including simple/combined cycle designs, renewable LV systems, AC collection for solar/batteries, interconnecting substations, gen-tie).
