Job summary

Sargent & Lundy Consulting (SLC) is seeking a senior energy consultant to help clients navigate the energy transition, from grid modernization to new generation planning. This full-time, remote role allows a candidate to be based anywhere in the United States.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams, deliver rigorous analyses and strategic recommendations for utilities, IPPs and developers, and present findings to executives. Strong communication and client-management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or civil engineering with 15+ years of experience in the power industry.
• Experience managing teams of engineers and/or consultants and direct client interaction.
• Experience with utilities, IPPs, project developers, grid operators, or energy investors.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with quantitative models and financial analysis.
• Ability to produce clear deliverables and communicate complex topics to non‑technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic planning projects including market, technology, and policy assessments.
• Lead and contribute to project economic and cost analyses, risk assessments, and contracting strategies.
• Manage technical due diligence and owner’s engineering reviews for power and energy projects.
• Provide client program and project management support; improve governance, processes, and controls.
• Develop conceptual plans with technical teams to meet client needs and present implementation strategies.
• Translate complex findings into client-ready deliverables and present to executives.
