Job summary

Powering Prosperity is seeking a proactive Policy Associate to advance state-based energy policy and help develop market-oriented policy solutions. This leadership-focused role emphasizes research, writing, and analytical skills to build expertise in energy and electricity policy.

You will collaborate with the Director of Policy and Executive Director to address emerging issues, analyze proposals, and develop materials for national and state initiatives to grow a state-focused energy advocacy

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of public policy or legislative affairs experience.
• Excellent writing and analytical skills.
• Ability to explain complex policy issues clearly to diverse audiences.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Interest in energy and electricity policy.

Responsibilities

• Conduct policy research on energy technologies, electricity markets, and state innovations.
• Analyze legislation and regulatory proposals from across the country.
• Draft policy memos, briefs, white papers, and model legislation.
• Prepare briefing materials for policymakers, regulators, and coalitions.
• Maintain and expand library of model policies and resources; engage in regulatory proceedings as needed.
• Support national and state research initiatives and special projects.
