Job summary

Advanced Energy United seeks a highly energetic Senior Policy Principal to lead state-level legislative and political engagement in Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island. You will build relationships with decision-makers, manage policy strategy, and drive outcomes accelerating the energy transition.

Remote role with strong emphasis on collaboration with member companies, coalition partners, and regulatory staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Political Science, Public Policy, Engineering, or Communications; Master’s degree is a plus.
• At least five years in legislative policy development, campaigns, or energy-sector organizing.
• Interest in energy and transportation policy and advocacy.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Lead policy work in MA, CT and RI and implement strategies to accelerate clean energy and electrified transport.
• Collaborate with member companies to develop policy positions and reach consensus.
• Manage lobbyist relationships and legislative strategy execution.
• Organize member engagement through lobby days, briefings, and legislative processes.
• Develop and maintain relationships with coalition partners and advocates.
• Create reports, presentations, and educational materials for advocacy efforts.
• Coordinate with communications to secure earned media and public visibility.
• Travel as needed (up to 20%) for advocacy days and stakeholder meetings.
