Job summary

APTIM Energy Transition seeks an Energy Engineer to join our team and lead technical reviews for HOMES and HEAR programs, working across internal teams and partners. This role emphasizes program design, analysis, and oversight of technical requirements in residential energy efficiency initiatives.

The successful candidate will manage multiple tasks, communicate effectively, and contribute to project reviews and on-site/remote verifications while collaborating with implementers and customers

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
• 2–5+ years’ program experience related to energy efficiency, mechanical design, energy modelling or construction.
• Expert knowledge of energy efficiency technologies and energy-saving solutions including lighting, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; experience with client engagement and coordination.
• Strong quantitative and analytic capabilities including calculation review and spreadsheet analysis.

Responsibilities

• Review customer incentive applications for energy savings projects and advise on eligibility.
• Provide technical expertise and serve as a resource for the program team on energy efficiency technologies.
• Discuss technical elements of residential equipment and how it affects consumption and demand.
• Participate in QA/QC and internal audit activities.
• Keep current on energy-saving technology to inform program design suggestions.
• Ensure codes and regulatory standards are integrated into program design.
• On-site and remote verification of energy saving projects.
• Develop and share ideas with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Promote communication among internal and external IRA Program teams.
