Job summary

Resource Innovations in Chicago, IL, is seeking an Engineering Manager - Energy Efficiency & DSM to lead a team delivering energy efficiency projects for utilities and clients. The role focuses on overseeing engineers, guiding energy savings programs, and ensuring high-quality technical deliverables.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in DSM and building efficiency, ability to manage multiple projects, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• 8+ years of experience within the DSM or building efficiency industry.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems including HVAC, refrigeration, and lighting.
• Ability to travel locally up to ~20%.
• Excellent writing, interpersonal, presentation, and analytical skills.
• Ability to distill complex ideas into concise conversations and emails.

Responsibilities

• Support RI’s utility programs and achieve energy savings goals.
• Produce high quality deliverables (reports and spreadsheets).
• Mentor and manage reviewing engineers to improve skills.
• Provide timely technical and program feedback to clients.
• Complete energy modeling, economic analysis, and simulations.
• Write technical reports summarizing energy audits and retro-commissioning results.
• Oversee delivery of technical services and maintain client relationships.
