Job summary

Legal.io is seeking an experienced Commercial Contracts Specialist to support the commercial team of a publicly traded, integrated energy company on a long‑term contract engagement.

This role focuses on development, negotiation, execution, and administration of complex commercial agreements across energy and carbon capture sectors. The successful candidate will work with leadership, internal legal teams, and outside counsel to translate business terms into actionable contract documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in commercial contract administration or contract management, including energy sector experience.
• Experience supporting midstream energy commercial agreements.
• Ability to translate complex commercial terms into precise summaries and drafting instructions.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Acrobat, DocuSign, and document comparison tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation, review, negotiation, and execution of complex commercial agreements in energy infrastructure and midstream projects.
• Translate term sheets and negotiation discussions into clear term summaries and drafting instructions.
• Prepare position summaries and correspondence for internal/external counsel.
• Review drafts, track deviations, and maintain contract trackers and obligations logs.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to resolve issues and advance negotiations.
