PSD is seeking an Energy Code Specialist in New York to develop and deliver training on energy codes. The role involves creating engaging presentations, delivering online and in-person sessions, and providing technical guidance to clients on applicable codes and policies. You will report to the Sr.

Manager of Energy Codes/Provider Services and collaborate across teams. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of IECC and NYS energy codes, experience producing technical resources, and a

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of residential and commercial energy codes and related compliance/enforcement practices.
• Experience developing technical resources to support energy code compliance, including training presentations, checklists, flowcharts, field guides, and FAQs.
• Familiarity with the IECC and its application across multiple project types.
• Working knowledge of NYS energy codes (ECCCNYS, NYStretch Energy Code).
• Ability to stay current on model energy codes and track state-level adoption and amendments.
• Experience delivering live online and in-person training with technical guidance for diverse audiences.
• Solid foundation in building science and ongoing professional learning.
• Strong relationship-building with code officials, design/construction professionals, and associations.
• Ability to collaborate with training, development, and marketing teams.
• Ability to prepare clear, timely reports and updates for clients.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to development of new course ideas and training topics aligned with evolving energy codes.
• Transform course outlines into engaging PowerPoint presentations with visual content.
• Deliver live webinars and in-person training sessions to diverse stakeholders.
• Provide technical assistance and guidance to clients on energy code policies within jurisdictions.
