LOGAN Community Resources is a nonprofit focused on helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities achieve their best quality of life. The Employment Specialist will provide discovery, job research, placement and ongoing support to participants with barriers in the community, partnering with funding sources for career exploration and placement.

Qualifications

• Good interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships with community organizations, clients, funding source staff and LOGAN staff.
• Ability to plan and organize work activities/processes, use discretion and sound judgment, and demonstrate initiative.
• Must have and/or develop working knowledge in Person Centered Planning and Positive Behavior Supports.
• Oral/written communication skills to clearly and effectively express ideas.

Responsibilities

• Provides individual assistance to participants including arranging interviews, preparing resumes, vocational exploration and job coaching.
• Identifies accommodations at work sites to enable individuals to perform tasks effectively.
• Develops and maintains productive relationships with employers, referral sources, clients, and LOGAN staff.
• Maintains calendar and communicates schedule changes to leadership.
