Job summary

Synectics Inc. is seeking an experienced employment law attorney to advise employer-clients on compliance, defend employers in litigation and investigations, and manage cases remotely. You will draft pleadings, conduct witness interviews, and provide strategic advice across federal, state, and local employment laws.

The ideal candidate has a J.D., active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, 5+ years in employment law with civil litigation and defense experience, and exemplary

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• At least 5 years of employment law experience, including civil litigation.
• Management-side employment law and defense litigation experience required.
• Excellent legal writing, research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and competing deadlines independently.
• Strong professional judgment and client communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fully remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Advise employer-clients on compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
• Defend employers in employment litigation and administrative proceedings.
• Investigate employment-related claims and prepare EEOC position statements and responses to Department of Labor (DOL) audits.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and other legal documents.
• Conduct witness interviews and factual investigations.
• Provide strategic legal advice on employment-related matters.
• Review and revise employee handbooks, workplace policies, and employment procedures.
• Draft responses to demand letters and pre-litigation claims.
• Manage discovery, including objections, document review, and discovery responses.
• Handle single-plaintiff employment litigation matters, including depositions and motion practice.
• Communicate directly with clients and manage cases independently as appropriate.
