Job summary

6 Degrees Search is seeking an Associate Attorney / Of Counsel in Employment Litigation to join its Employment Litigation Practice Group. This is a remote position requiring California Bar admission and strong experience handling complex employment matters for employers across industries.

You will manage all phases of litigation from strategy to trial prep, advise employers on compliance, and collaborate with a national team of attorneys.

Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record.
• Active California Bar Admission in good standing.
• 4+ years of substantive California employment litigation experience.
• 9+ years for Of Counsel track with first-chair capabilities.
• Experience defending employers in employment litigation matters.
• Experience representing employers in court proceedings, arbitrations, mediations, and admin matters.
• Class Action and/or PAGA experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of California and federal employment laws.
• Ability to independently manage litigation from inception to resolution.
• Excellent written and oral advocacy skills.
• Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
• Prior large law firm experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Defend employers in a broad range of employment litigation matters and agency proceedings.
• Handle all aspects of litigation, including strategy, pleadings, discovery, depositions, motions, mediations, arbitrations, and trial prep.
• Represent employers before state and federal administrative agencies.
• Advise employers on employment law compliance and workplace issues.
• Conduct management training on employment and labor law topics.
• Handle discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage/hour disputes, and class or representative actions.
• Collaborate with attorneys across multiple offices and practice areas to provide strategic, business-oriented legal counsel to clients.
