Job summary

Workforce Recruiter is seeking an Associate Attorney in Employment Litigation to join our client’s remote team. The candidate will handle sophisticated California employment matters for employers nationwide, with significant responsibility and client interaction.

Ideal candidates possess a California Bar in good standing, 4+ years of experience, and strong advocacy skills. Of Counsel applicants should have 9+ years and first-chair capabilities, with preference for large-firm backgrounds.

Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record.
• Active Bar Admission in California, in good standing.
• 4+ years of substantive California employment litigation experience.
• 9+ years for Of Counsel with first-chair capabilities (California).
• Experience defending employers in employment litigation, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour.
• Experience representing employers in court proceedings, arbitrations, mediations, and administrative agencies.
• Class Action and/or PAGA experience preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of California and federal employment laws and procedures.
• Ability to independently manage matters from inception through resolution.
• Excellent written and oral advocacy skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to client service excellence.
• Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to professionalism, collaboration, and teamwork.
• Prior large law firm experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Defend employers in a broad range of employment litigation matters and agency proceedings.
• Handle all aspects of litigation including strategy, pleadings, discovery, depositions, motions, mediations, arbitrations, and trial prep.
• Represent employers before state and federal administrative agencies.
• Advise and counsel employers on employment law compliance and workplace issues.
• Conduct management training on employment and labor law topics.
• Handle matters involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour disputes, employment torts, contract claims, non-compete issues, and class actions.
• Collaborate with attorneys across offices to provide strategic, business-oriented legal counsel.
