Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission seeks an Emergency Management Coordinator I to oversee preparedness, response, and recovery for state hospitals and living centers. The role coordinates plans, analyses, and communications to ensure operational readiness and resilience across HSCS facilities.

The position supports emergency training, exercises, and incident management, with telework eligibility and opportunities to collaborate with multiple state agencies.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in emergency management, planning, healthcare, public administration or related field preferred.
• Completion of FEMA-IS trainings within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate emergency management activities for HSCS emergency program.
• Develop and maintain hazard analyses and COOP plans.
• Monitor threats, weather, and alerts and communicate with stakeholders.
• Support HSCS EOC operations and incident response.
