Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) in Harlingen, TX is seeking an Incident Management Coordinator (IMC) to support the RGSC Incident Management process. The role ensures prompt and thorough handling of unusual incidents, ANE, crisis situations, and health/safety concerns, while protecting patient rights and hospital safety.

The IMC communicates across Quality Management, Rights Protection, Risk Management, and RGSC leadership, tracks progress of interventions, analyzes incident

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; major in social work, sociology, psychology, or nursing.
• OR Four (4) years in one or more of the following fields: Social Work, Sociology, Psychology or nursing.

Responsibilities

• Attend work regularly and follow shift schedule as required.
• Provide technical assistance regarding entering data into the assigned data management system for incident reports.
• Document preliminary reviews of reportable incidents in data management systems and contribute to plans of correction.
• Participate in development and revisions of RGSC incident management policies to meet hospital needs and regulatory requirements.
• Review and analyze incident data to identify trends and remedial actions; generate root cause analyses and investigations as assigned.
• Support disaster response and Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation when needed.
