Cognizant is seeking an Emergency Department Coder to ensure accurate, compliant medical coding across outpatient settings. You will collaborate with physicians and staff to clarify diagnoses, apply ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS, and use encoder tools to maintain high accuracy and productivity.

• Must hold coding certifications (CPC/CCS or equivalent).
• Experience coding and auditing outpatient, observation, ED, and diagnostic encounters.

Responsabilidades

• Review clinical documentation and assign diagnosis and procedure codes for outpatient surgery, observation, ED, and outpatient diagnostic encounters.
• Communicate with physicians and staff to obtain clarification on diagnoses and procedures through coding queries.
• Use electronic encoder applications and coding tools to assign accurate codes per company policies and regulatory guidelines.
• Maintain a minimum coding accuracy rate of 98% while meeting productivity standards.
