ITW is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and support embedded software for existing and new products. You will handle hardware bring-up, low-level driver development, and integration of UART, SPI, I2C, USB, Ethernet, and GPIO while working closely with hardware and firmware teams.

The role requires 4+ years in embedded software, strong C/C++, FreeRTOS or MQX, and experience with JTAG, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Software, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or related discipline).
• Minimum of 4 years of embedded software development or related engineering roles.
• Proficiency in embedded languages (C/C++), Git, and real-time OS (FreeRTOS/MQX).
• Strong hardware/software integration and system-level design.
• Ability to work independently across design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation.
• Experience supporting manufacturing, field teams, or customer applications is a plus.
• Board bring-up experience and debug of low-level hardware/software issues on prototype hardware.
• Ability to read schematics, datasheets, reference manuals and interface documentation.
• Experience with embedded debug tools (JTAG, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers) and serial interfaces.
• Experience integrating Bluetooth/BLE, UART, SPI, I2C, USB, or Ethernet.
• Quarterly travel to Fairmont, MN facility; additional onsite visits may occur.

Responsabilidades

• Develop, code, test, and debug embedded software for customers and internal lines.
• Design and modify moderately complex software from specifications with limited guidance.
• Apply engineering principles to create robust embedded solutions and validate versions.
• Bring up software on new hardware platforms, initializing microcontrollers and interfaces.
• Develop and debug drivers and BSPs for UART, SPI, I2C, USB, Ethernet, and GPIO.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams on software scope, status, risks, and issues.
• Document designs, changes, and analyses thoroughly and professionally.
• Prepare tests and validation plans to ensure product reliability and performance.
• Assist in production and field support, and contribute to user manuals and technical docs.
