Job summary

Avery Weigh-Tronix is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and support embedded software for existing and new products. Responsibilities include hardware bring-up, low-level driver development, and cross-functional collaboration across engineering and manufacturing teams.

The role requires strong C/C++ skills, RTOS experience (FreeRTOS/MQX), and a proven ability to work from schematics and reference manuals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
• 4+ years embedded software development experience.
• Proficiency in C/C++, Git, and RTOS environments.
• Experience with board bring-up and hardware/software integration.
• Experience with JTAG, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
• Ability to read schematics and datasheets.

Responsibilities

• Develop, code, test, and debug new embedded software or enhancements.
• Bring up embedded software on new hardware platforms.
• Develop and debug low-level drivers and board support software.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and document designs.
• Analyze test results and drive design decisions.
• Support manufacturing and field teams.
• Travel to Fairmont, MN for onsite work.
