Job summary
Canonical is seeking an Embedded Linux Field Engineer for Devices/IoT to extend our reach in Automotive, Medical, Industrial, Robotics and Telco. You’re a hands-on Linux expert who codes, scripts, and debugs low‑level boot, BIOS, firmware, and embedded software.
This remote role can be based in the United States and requires travel up to 30% for customer meetings and conferences. You will engage presales, propose solutions, contribute to project delivery, and collaborate with global teams to
Qualifications
- This role requires extensive Linux experience (Debian/Ubuntu preferred).
- Hands-on embedded Linux experience with Yocto/Buildroot or RTOS.
- Fluency in at least one of Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust.
- Professional English; strong communication and presentation skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 30% for customer meetings and events.
Responsibilities
- Engage customers during presales to gather requirements and explain technology.
- Elaborate solutions to propose to prospective clients.
- Participate in delivery of select Embedded Linux projects.
- Convey market requirements to stakeholders and influence generic solutions.
- Be a customer advocate and trusted advisor to Canonical.
