Job summary
Canonical is seeking an Embedded Linux Field Engineer for Devices/IoT to serve automotive, medical, industrial, robotics, and consumer electronics customers. You will leverage deep Linux expertise, contribute to device-level firmware, and travel for select customer engagements.
The role demands strong scripting/coding skills, packaging experience, and the ability to work across diverse client environments with a global team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
- Extensive Linux experience; Debian or Ubuntu preferred.
- Distribution/Packaging experience (deb, rpm).
- Embedded Linux experience (Yocto, Buildroot).
- Fluency in Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust.
- Professional English (spoken and written).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Willing to travel up to 30% for customer engagements.
Responsibilities
- Engage with customers during presales to gather requirements and explain technology.
- Propose and elaborate embedded Linux solutions for clients.
- Contribute to delivery of select Embedded Linux projects.
- Translate market needs to stakeholders and help refine generic solutions.
