Job summary

Colorado State University seeks a Pre-award Proposal Research Project Manager to coordinate competitive grant and contract applications for federal, state, local, foundation, and industry funding. You will ensure accurate budget preparation and compliance with sponsor requirements, serving as a resource for extramural funding across CSU offices.

The RPM will build relationships with stakeholders, manage competing priorities, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of funding agency guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required with relevant professional experience.
• Experience coordinating proposal submissions and budgets for federal/state/local funding.
• Familiarity with sponsor requirements, cost share, and reporting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with strong stakeholders management.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate preparation of scientific research proposals to federal sponsors (NSF, NIH, NASA, EPA, DOE, DOD, etc.).
• Prepare budgets and budget justifications ensuring compliance with requirements.
• Collaborate with Office of Sponsored Programs and college leadership to meet submission deadlines.
• Maintain knowledge of KRPD, Smartsheet, and sponsor portals; support post-award activities when needed.
