Job summary

Erie Insurance is seeking a Property Adjuster in the La Crosse, WI area. You will handle property claims with independent judgment, investigate losses, prepare estimates, and manage claims through resolution.

Training paths (Trainee/I/II) are available, with travel to Erie, PA for initial programs. Eligible candidates may join a Catastrophe Team and are expected to reside in the territory; a company car and home office setup are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and five years of claims handling experience, or Bachelor’s Degree and two years of claims handling experience.
• Incumbent must live in the assigned territory unless change is approved by the company.
• Position may require joining Catastrophe Team and potential travel on short notice.
• Willingness to obtain and maintain any required licenses.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Handle property claims with independence within designated authority.
• Investigate, interview, inspect damage, and prepare estimates.
• Set reserves, determine coverage and claim value, and negotiate with attorneys when needed.
• Document files and communicate with agents and district sales managers.
• Provide training to new adjusters and participate in Catastrophe Team as required.
