Job summary

H&P Executive Search seeks a Power and Energy Attorney to join its legal team in Dallas with potential for fully remote work. The role focuses on drafting and negotiating ESAs and PPAs, advising on energy procurement, and guiding complex energy transactions.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience in energy agreements, a J.D. or equivalent, and admission to a U.S. state bar. Base compensation ranges from $180,000 to $230,000 with discretionary bonuses.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience drafting and negotiating Energy Services Agreements (ESAs) and Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).
• Strong ability to draft, review and negotiate energy-related commercial agreements.
• Experience partnering with cross-functional teams on energy procurement and transactions.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate Energy Services Agreements (ESAs), PPAs, and related energy agreements.
• Partner with business, development, finance and other internal teams on energy transactions.
• Provide practical, business-oriented legal advice on structuring and execution of energy arrangements.
• Identify and manage legal and commercial risks in power supply and energy projects.
• Support transactions from initial term sheet to negotiation, execution and implementation.
• Coordinate with external counsel as needed on complex matters.
