An Am100 law firm is seeking a mid level associate to join its Energy Transactions team in Houston.

This is an opportunity to join a growing and well established energy practice, advising clients on power and renewable energy transactions, including M&A and joint ventures.

The role is suited to an associate comfortable handling complex, multi party transactions while working closely with senior lawyers and clients.

The Role

• Advise on power and renewable energy M&A and joint venture transactions
• Draft and negotiate key transaction documents, including:
• Purchase and sale agreements
• Joint venture agreements
• Development agreements
• Manage due diligence and transaction processes through to closing
• Work within multi disciplinary teams across offices
• Take on direct client interaction and responsibility

Must Haves

• 4-6 years experience in transactional law (ideally energy-focused)
• Experience in M&A and/or joint venture transactions
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills
• Solid organisational and project management ability
• JD from an ABA accredited law school
• Active membership and good standing with the Texas Bar
