Job summary

Community Health Center of Snohomish County (CHC) is seeking a Patient Access Specialist-Medical to serve as the first point of contact in a centralized call center. You will handle pre-registration, scheduling, and insurance verification while documenting patient interactions in the electronic health record.

You will work in a role that values teamwork and accuracy, with bilingual skills preferred. Remote work is eligible after onsite training, for candidates residing in Washington State.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of customer service experience.
• Preferred experience in medical/dental setting or healthcare insurance.
• Experience with call centers and insurance billing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Pre-registers patients in the practice management system.
• Schedules appointments and maintains the appointment calendar.
• Reschedules patients when providers' schedules change.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and informs uninsured patients about enrollment and sliding fee discounts.
• Answers billing questions or routes to the appropriate department.
• Documents compliments and complaints in the system.
• Provides interpreter services as needed and communicates with outside organizations.
