Job summary

Texas Department of State Health Services seeks an Epidemiologist II to lead advanced epidemiological work on antimicrobial resistance and multidrug‑resistant organisms. You will design data collection, manage large AR/MDRO datasets, and disseminate findings to health departments and facilities statewide.

The role requires strong analytical skills, experience with surveillance systems, and the ability to communicate complex results; telework is eligible, with regular in‑office presence in Austin.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in public health or related field required.
• Minimum two years of relevant public health epidemiology experience.
• Experience with AR MDRO surveillance and data analysis strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead advanced epidemiological work related to AR/MDROs and surveillance.
• Provide technical assistance and trainings to stakeholders.
• Prepare reports and participate in outbreak response and quality improvement initiatives.
