Job summary

Dept of State Health Services in Austin, Texas seeks an Epidemiologist II to perform advanced epidemiology work under supervision. You will evaluate exposures to toxic substances, assist multiple programs, and develop data visualizations for internal and public use.

Requirements include a Masters/PhD in epidemiology or biostatistics, experience with Excel/SQL/REDCap, and proficiency in SAS, R, STATA or Python. Flexible duties include disaster response and COOP involvement.

Qualifications

• Masters' or doctoral degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, or a related field.
• Experience with data collection and data management using Excel, Access, SQL, REDCap.
• Experience with statistical software such as SAS, R, STATA, Python.

Responsibilities

• Provide epidemiology support across programs and publish analyses.
• Perform surveillance data analysis and data quality checks.
• Create data visualizations and dashboards for staff and public.
• Respond to inquiries on hazardous chemical risks.
• Support disaster response and COOP activities.
