Job summary

Prosper Portland seeks a Government Relations professional to plan, coordinate and support funding initiatives at federal and state levels. The role builds coalitions and advances equity-focused economic development projects while aligning with agency priorities and city partners.

The individual will manage relationships with elected officials and staff, coordinate across departments, and contribute to communications content and grant proposals within a hybrid in-person/remote work model.

Qualifications

• Six years of combined government relations experience.
• Experience with grant prospecting and funding proposals.
• Degree substitutions may apply for up to one year of experience.
• Ability to travel and work a hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities

• Support funding resources including grants and legislative appropriations.
• Develop agency-wide government relations strategy with the Policy Manager.
• Manage relationships with state and federal officials and their staff.
• Coordinate with City of Portland’s Office of Government Relations.
• Represent Prosper Portland at community and government meetings.
• Collaborate with Communications on content for websites and publications.
• Draft scopes of work and manage related contracts and services.
• Lead or participate in cross-functional advisory groups.
