Job summary

Mercury Insurance in Atlanta seeks a Property Claims Field Adjuster II to investigate and settle homeowners claims of moderate complexity. After training, you will travel to loss sites across the region, conduct on-site inspections, and may handle some virtual claims using imagery and video technology.

You will apply company policies, regulatory standards, and proper damage estimates, while delivering exceptional service to policyholders and managing reserves within authority limits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Ability to obtain state specific property claims licensing, as required.
• Must successfully participate and complete formal property claims training program that may take place in person, virtually, or a combination of both.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve Homeowners claims of moderate complexity in a timely and efficient manner.
• Ability to perform field inspections at least 50% of work time with a company car provided.
• Handle virtual claims using imagery and video to collaborate with onsite vendors and insureds.
• Determine coverage by comparing facts against policy; extend or deny coverage as appropriate.
• Establish reserves within authority and negotiate settlements; refer to supervisor for approvals when needed.
• Communicate with insureds to resolve issues and ensure customer satisfaction, adhering to regulations.
• Manage workload and monitor progress to resolve claims efficiently.
• Direct and review files handled by independent adjusters when required.
