Job summary

Qualifications

• 2+ years of prior relevant experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial preferred.
• Experience with electric utility design engineering for distribution.
• Knowledge of the National Electric Safety Code (NESC).
• Experience with structural analysis, guying/calcs, cable pulling calcs, and protective devices coordination.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform design engineering for Leidos electric utility customers.
• Develop work packages for OH, UG, URD, Make Ready, and Street Light projects using GIS and Maximo.
• Manage scope, schedule, and budget of assigned work.
• Design tools such as Pole Foreman, SOCKET, Spida-Calc, DDS.
• Review engineering design packages with clients.
• Coordinate field data collection and client follow-up.
• Initiate continuous improvement to workflow processes that drive efficiency and quality.
• Coordinate conflicting utilities and large design packages in dense urban environments.
