Job summary

Leidos in Michigan is seeking Distribution Engineers & Designers to work on electric utility design projects, collaborating with clients to ensure high-quality deliverables using GIS and various design tools.

You will engage in field data collection, package development, and coordination across multiple utilities while supporting hybrid work arrangements and growth opportunities within Power Delivery Services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial engineering.
• Experience with electric utility design engineering.
• Knowledge of NESC and utility design standards.
• Experience coordinating with clients and teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform design engineering for electric utility customers.
• Develop work packages (OH, UG, URD, Make Ready, Street Light) using GIS and WMS systems.
• Manage the scope, schedule, and budget of work assigned.
• Review engineering design packages with clients.
• Coordinate field data collection and site visits.
• Initiate continuous improvement to workflow processes.
• Gain experience coordinating conflicting utilities and large design packages.
• Be comfortable in both field and office settings with possible customer-site visits.
